Shipping Instructions

Sellers you are responsible for the proper packaging of your equipment for shipping. The correct packaging and shipping of your equipment is vital to your having a successful sale. Please follow the guidelines below.
General Items
  • Use a sturdy box that allows 4-6 inches of packing material on all sides of the unit.
  • Seal the unit in a Plastic Bag to protect it from moisture and packing material pieces.
  • Proper packing material is critical. Use Foam or Bubble Wrap.
  • Styrofoam Peanuts should be packed into plastic bags to make 'pillows'. This provides better protection and keeps the peanuts from drifting around the box and inside the unit.
  • Make sure unit is firmly cushioned in the box.
  • Use extra packing on the Front and Rear Panels
  • Indicate 'This Side Up' on the box.
  • Do Not Send Master Tapes!
Shipping Cases
  • Use specifically-designed shipping cases. These are typically wood or plastic and have heavy pre-molded foam inserts built in.
  • Some Camera Cases are designed for hand-carrying units and are NOT suitable for shipping.
  • Make sure the unit is secure inside the case and does not move around. Use foam or bubble-wrap to secure.
Cameras
  • If the lens will be sent - it should be removed from the Camera and packed carefully.
  • Install Cover on Camera Body to protect CCD Block.
  • Ship Cameras only in designated Shipping Cases or well-packed boxes.
  • Remove Lights / Battery Packs.
VTR's
  • Remove Rack / Slide Mounts before shipping
  • Use foam / bubble wrap to protect the front / rear panels.
  • UVW - Series VTR Studio Decks should be sent with a small tape set in 'Load Position' to keep the gears in proper alignment.
Monitors
  • Most of the weight is in the front of the Monitor.
  • Use extra packing to cushion the CRT (Tube) and Front Panel.
Switchers
  • Recommended to be shipped in specially designed case for that particular item.
  • If you are not able to ship in a designated shipping case please follow the instructions above for VTR's
Tripods
  • Prior to placing in a box or hard shipping case wrap tripod with bubble wrap.
Accessories
  • Please bag accessories and indicate what was sent.
Most Common Situations that Cause Damage:
  • Box is too small or flimsy
  • Insufficient packing used
  • Unit is not secure inside Box / Case and unit shifts during shipment
Insurance
  • As the Shipper - you are responsible for packing the unit safely. To protect your investment, please insure your package for the appropriate value
